EZE66FINE - Eze-lap sharpening plate, 6in x 2in - fine

These proven diamond sharpeners are manufactured by a patented heat treatment process, which tenaciously bonds diamond particles in a stainless alloy. Each square inch has millions of high quality industrial diamond micro-crystals. They are self sharpening - using the stone continually exposes fresh diamond micro-crystals. This gives a long working life with very effective abrasive properties. They will cut any hard materials - steels, carbides, glass, ceramics, HSS and TCT. They are ideally suited to sharpening a wide range of cutting tools from the engineering and woodworking industries, and will find many applications in domestic and outdoor activities. These stones will not burn or draw a temper of fine tool steel like power grinding does. There is approximately 40% more cutting area than on perforated type diamond sharpeners.

Eze-lap diamond sharpeners offer a superior alternative to conventional stones and, with very little care, will give years of use. They are generally used dry and will quickly produce a sharp edge. For a finer cutting edge a lubricant can be used - water with a dash of liquid detergent is preferred.

In use, heavier pressure produces a faster cut and lighter pressure gives a finer finish. When new, the sharpener appears rough with many protruding diamond points. These quickly flat off, thus exposing more edges, and the surface is 'run-in' to give a long working life. If the sharpener appears clogged it is easily restored by scrubbing with soap and water, using a scouring pad, or a plastic pencil eraser.

Although the majority of sharpening operations can be carried out with the fine grade, other grades are available for specific applications. The effect of various grades of sharpening stones is highly subjective and the grit numbers given are not necessarily comparable with other sharpening processes.

It is virtually impossible to damage the plate. The 1/4in thick steel base is unbreakable and remains flat after use. Supplied in a protective hide pouch.
